NAAAP Hawaii and Hawaii Pacific University Presents

Hawaii to Asia: Developing Market Strategy, Business Partnerships and Cultural Understanding

Timothy Liu, Senior Director, International Sales Asia, Hawaiian Airlines

Beginning with its first inter-island flight between Honolulu and Hilo in 1929, Hawaiian Airlines is today the eleventh largest commercial airline and the number one carrier for on-time travel within the United States.   Essential to its growth has been Hawaiian's expansion into Asia, with service to destinations such as Japan and South Korea.  Join us to hear how Hawaiian Airlines evaluates new markets, develops business partnerships, and fosters cultural understanding across the Asia Pacific.  In addition, hear firsthand about their inaugural flight to Beijing, China, which begins service on April 16, 2014.

Timothy Liu is currently the Senior Director, International Sales Asia, for Hawaiian Airlines.  He is responsible for leading all of Hawaiian Airlines' sales, partnership, market entry, and distribution efforts throughout Asia.  He previously held the title of Director of Network Strategy, where he was instrumental in developing Hawaiian Airlines' route network as it expanded into ten new destinations in less than three years, as well as shaping the company's airline partnership portfolio.  He holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Chicago.
