Event Details

Sponsored by the Annie E. Casey Foundation, the Harmony Oaks Open House event will honor the collaborative input that inspired the redevelopment of the former C.J. Peete Public Housing development and its surrounding neighborhood into the thriving mixed-income community now known as Harmony Oaks.

Celebratory activities will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony with a host of dignitaries and supporters of the redevelopment effort and, immediately following, a series of panel discussions to showcase the high level of engagement of community partners in supporting residents during and beyond the revitalization.

The day will also feature tours of: Harmony Oaks Apartments, which were developed by McCormack Baron Salazar with KAI Design+Build and Harmony Neighborhood Development and are now managed by McCormack Baron Ragan; the for-sale homes built by Harmony Neighborhood Development located throughout the Central City community; and the new state-of-the-art Carter G. Woodson Elementary School. Attendees will also have the opportunity to enjoy scheduled performances highlighting the community’s talent and to participate in activities such as a mini health and service fair.
