We're hacking happiness and need your help!
Come join the H(app)athon Project Committee and invited guests as we launch our Mobile Happiness Indicator Survey (mHIS) and discuss issues around emerging technology and well-being/happiness.
- Jon Hall, Policy Specialist with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and H(app)athon Committee Member.
- Ari Meisel, founder of The Art of Less Doing who cured himself of Crohn's Disease via Quantified Self Tools/methodologies.
- Robert Gordon, Chief Strategy Officer of APX Labs, and Former Deputy Under Secretary of Defense under President Obama.
We've designed the evening to teach attendees about the central areas we're focusing on - Quantified Self, The Internet of Things (emerging mobile/media) and Subjective Well-Being/Happiness. Our speakers will introduce these ideas, and then the evening is about you - we'll break up into groups to play an interactive game to brainstorm ideas around how we could create a new vision of holistic value for the world utilizing emerging technology. As a reminder - our work hinges on the idea of crowdsourcing a Happiness Indicator (like Bhutan's Gross National Happiness) so we can eventually build an App that will act as a real-time, interactive 'well-being indicator for the world.' The H(app)athon Project Update:
We launched on December 28th and had a nice write up in Mashable, A Hackathon For Happiness. We had over 750,000 impressions on twitter of the word "happathon" and are building up media and other partnerships.
We hope you can join us for this invite-only (yes, we consider you to be influencer-types) event. Help us get h(app)y!
