The main facility is over 45,000 square feet. Included in the main facility are approximately 165 dog runs and 220 stainless steel cages. The building also provides an area for the Gary T. DeLisser Spay/Neuter Clinic operated by the Humane Society of Charlotte. The Animal Care and Control Bureau's pet adoption program brings animals and people together. The shelter also has two specially designed bonding areas for people to interact and play with the animals they are considering for adoption.
Project HALO (Helping Animals Live On) is a non-profit, NO-KILL animal rescue and sanctuary based in Charlotte, N.C. It is a 100% volunteer organization and are funded privately by generous donors. Without our dedicated volunteers and thoughtful donors, Project HALO does not exist!
When & Where
Hands On Charlotte & Friendship Trays
Hands On Charlotte is a nonprofit volunteer service organization. We promote volunteerism and direct community service to meet Charlotte's most critical needs. Our mission is to strenghten our community and enrich lives by mobilizing a diverse corps of citizens in direct, volunteer service.
Friendship Trays generally delivers more than 600 meals daily to elderly, handicapped, and convalescing people who are unable or greatly restricted in their ability to prepare or secure meals and who reside within the area we can reach with our corps of drivers. Deliveries are at the lunch hour but the meal is a full one, more like what many people are accustomed to for dinner.
