Hack Your Router for Privacy and Stability - DDWRT
Have a router that crashes and bugs out? Totally done with resetting it every day at 4pm? Just want better security and more flexibility? This is the class for you. We'll show you how to get up and running with DD-WRT. Read more about DD-WRT. Don't worry if that's all gibberish, we'll make it approachable and easy.
From our presenter: I'm going to show how to install DD-WRT / OpenWRT on a variety of hardware, along with try and show some of the reasons you might actually be interested in switching away from the firmware that's provided on your device from the factory.
A basic understanding of networking in general does help a lot, though it's not required, and if you have a device you want to try and flash dd-wrt/openwrt/something onto, and haven't done it you are welcome to
bring it and I will do my best to help you get it on there (note: as always, you flash firmware at your own risk, if it doesn't work, sometimes you can't recover. That said I've yet to truly brick something). Also, Bonus points if you can bring a laptop if you are actually going to flash.
