Connected microcontrollers were never so affordable and easy to use! Nanode is a low-cost arduino-clone with ethernet onboard.
It is the winner of the 2011 Best IoT Open Source Project Award, and is used in many projects such as cosm gateways or as a platform for the Air Quality Egg project.
In this workshop you will be able to build your own Nanode, then program it to do whatever you want! Let your house tweet temperature values or blink some lights when someone likes your facebook page!
The possibilities offered by Nanode are unlimited: from reading sensor values to controlling lights, motors or servos over the Internet.
Programming Nanode is as easy as programming an Arduino (IDE compatible) and arduino shields are also compatible.
We will get together on Saturday June 9th at 11:00 at the airport Tempelhof as a part of the DMY design festival, with soldering irons and crazy ideas to transform something like this:
You shouldn't be afraid of the electronics, they dont bite :) And there will be many people who can help you with soldering and programming your nanode.
People who want to bring their own hardware and make something related to the IoT or physical computing are also very welcome to bring their stuff and join us.
Nanode kits will be available for the incredible price of 30 EUR (As a compairison an arduino UNO + Ethernet shield cost 59 EUR). This price includes taking part in the workshop and the entry ticket to DMY.
Soldering irons and soldering supplies will be available, but it would be great if you could bring some of these things:
-your laptop with Arduino IDE 1.0 installed
-any arduino shield you want to experiment with
Your should also bring prototyping breadboards and any LEDs, servos, you want to hook to your Nanode.
You can book yourself a nanode and a place in the workshop. First come first served!

See you there!
