The National Day of Civic Hacking is coming to Kansas City! On June 1st and 2nd, we’re joining fifty other cities across the nation to code, draw, organize, envision and plan out how to make our cities better.
We need coders, artists, organizers, writers, and makers ... anyone who wants to volunteer a weekend to meet other cool people and make a better Kansas City. The National Day of Civic Hacking fits perfectly into the Kansas City spirit: roll up our sleeves, get involved, and work together to improve our metro.
Where & What
The festivities will be held at Union Station. There will be two main components to the event running 9 am to 5 pm both days:
- Civic Hacks Expo
- Civic Hackathon
If you just want to come see what “civic tech” means and to see a glimpse of the future of online engagement, the civic tech expo is for you. If you want to roll up your sleeves and hack your Kansas City, then consider joining in the hackathon!
