Event Details

Join Habitat for Humanity, Lowe’s and fellow tweeps on May 3 for the first ever #WomenBuild Twitter Party to celebrate the 5th annual National Women Build Week (May 5-13). Sponsored by Lowe’s, National Women Build Week encourages women to devote at least one day to the effort to create affordable housing.

Throughout the day, we will offer how-to home building
tips and give away some great prizes. The Twitter party will be from 2-3:30 pm ET for a Women Build Talk about affordable housing, its effects on women and children, and how you can help. The Women Build Talk will be moderated by Sloane Berrent (@sloane), founder of The Causemopolitan.

Habitat for Humanity is a global nonprofit organization that brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. Since 1976, Habitat has served more than 500,000 families.

Each year since 1984, former President Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, give a week of their time to help us build homes. The Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project helps to raise awareness for the critical need for simple, decent and affordable housing. The event is held at a different location each year and attracts volunteers from around the world.

For more information, to donate or to volunteer, please visit www.habitat.org, or follow us at www.facebook.com/habitat or at www.twitter.com/habitat_org or join Habitat’s blog community at www.habitat.org/blog.
