Description
Guitar Masterworks
Simon Powis, guitar
Dear Friends,
I am delighted to invite you all to an intimate home salon at my apartment on the Upper West Side in which I will be hosting Simon Powis -- a passionate and expressive guitarist, a talented young soloist, chamber musician, and innovator in an eclectic and colorful program which will feature the jewels of the Classical guitar repertoire. Each work that he will play represents a masterpiece given to the repertory from the composer. From the early J. S. Bach's Ciaconna - arguably one of the greatest and most heart-wrenching masterworks for any instrument - to several diverse works from the 20th century, these compositions display the varied and colorful music that lives with the modern Classical guitar to this day. This special Guitar Masterworks program is NOT to be missed!!!
I look forward to seeing you all on October 26th!
Best wishes,
