Presentation Title: “Pharma’s PAT Journey: Engineers needed!”
Daniel Wasser, Ph.D.
While Dan prefers to be called an Engineer, he is currently a Principal Scientist in Pharmaceutical Development at Bristol-Myers Squibb. His educational background includes BS and MS degrees in Chemical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University (including a JYA at the University of Edinburgh where he developed a passion for Scottish ales) and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering and Mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dan began his career developing and deploying advanced control systems for petroleum refinery processes. He then spent several years designing intelligent systems for optimization of pharmaceutical manufacturing. Most recently at BMS a primary area of focus is the development and transfer to manufacturing of advanced process control systems based on Process Analytical Technology (PAT). When not working you can find him riding his bike around central jersey.
