This program is one of an ongoing lecture series held on the third Tuesday of the month at the GTM Research Reserve office in the Town of Marineland.
The series is designed to help inform the public about their coastal natural world. These events are FREE however, space is limited so reservations are requested. Reservations can be made online or by calling 904-823-4500.
Beginning April 21, the lecture will move to a new location: Marineland Dolphin Adventure, 9600 Ocean Shore Blvd., St. Augustine. If you plan to attend the lecture on April 21 (or afterwards) it is essential you arrive by 9:45 a.m. at the gift shop so that we can escort you back to the classroom. If you attend the lecture, you'll also receive free admission to Marineland for the day to enjoy the park afterwards.
Tuesday, March 17, 2015, 10-11 a.m.: Matt Monroe, outreach coordinator for the Northeast Florida Aquatic Preserves will discuss, "Oysters in Our Own Back Yard: Community Oyster Shell Recycling and Living Reef Restoration."
Tuesday, April 21, 2015, 10-11 a.m.: Joe Burgess, herpetologist and resource management coordinator at the GTM Research Reserve will discuss, "Snakes! How to Shed Your Fears."
