Mindset is a simple idea discovered by world-renowned Stanford University psychologist Carol Dweck who has researched achievement and success for decades. Her focus on mindset has implications for charter school boards. In a growth mindset, people believe that intelligence and talent are malleable and can be developed by meeting challenges with perseverance and dedication. This view creates a love of learning and a resilience that is essential for great accomplishment. Come to this session to learn how this concept can transform the potential of your board.
Elizabeth Elizardi has been working in public and nonpublic schools across the country for the last two decades as a teacher, instructional coach, parent educator and administrator. She is currently an Academic Dean at Mildred Osborne Charter School, a turn-around charter in the Arise Schools Network. At Osborne, Elizabeth has partnered with Match Teacher Coaching to pilot an innovative coaching program aimed at increasing teacher effectiveness and supporting teacher growth and development. Elizabeth also works as an educational consultant with Leading Educators and The New Teacher Project and she is an online contributor to Psychology Today.
