GREENROOTS PRESENTS: "Blue 'N Green" The Sound LAB (SAT, June 30th, 7:00PM)
Saturday, June 30, 2012 from 7:00 PM to 11:55 PM (PDT)
Los Angeles, CA
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
The GreenRoots showcases were launched based upon the belief that mixing discerning ears for great sound with world-class talent will create a community capable of socially elevating the art of music to where it transcends labels of gender, class, or creed, and boundaries of race, culture, age, and musical genre. The GreenRoots family is a growing part of a larger movement emphasizing a return to authenticity in the music industry while staying rooted in the music and connected to one another. With this in mind, we'd like to proudly introduce a new experience called The Sound LAB, a special Summer spotlight series.
On Saturday, JUNE 30th at 7:00pm, we're is bringing you a showcase featuring 6 amazing artists from the GreenRoots family. In place of the regular format of 2-3 songs, each artist will perform a 30 minute set. This summer series will be taped resulting in a television project that will continue the GreenRoots tradition of displaying collaboration within the artist's community.
This month, the 6 featured artists are (in order of appearance):
Angel Taylor, who reached top 5 on the VH1 countdown after releasing her debut album LOVE TRAVELS with Columbia/Aware Records (which iTunes named their choice for Pop album of the year) has toured with artists Adele, Brett Dennen, Train and Gavin DeGraw before making waves on NBC’s “The Voice” this past season. She also released an EP entitled MOTION in April of this year. Angel melts hearts at every showcase...this month is going to be no exception.
Melissa Polinar, through her soulful vocal stylings and lyrical prowess, she has become a YouTube sensation, accumulating more than 6 million views, over 56,000 subscribers from posting mostly original work and was a featured artist on YouTube’s music main page as “Rising Star”. She deftly mixes soul, jazz, blues, pop, and folk to find that musical sweet spot, the space that has so easily hooked many of her fans, including co-writers Ernie Halter, Tony Lucca, and Allen Stone. We heart her :)
Jacob Luttrell, SESAC’s 2011 winner for Song of the Year for Enrique Iglesias’ “Tonight (I’m Loving You)" featuring Ludacris, has also penned hits like FloRida’s “Wild One" featuring Sia and David Guetta featuring Chris Brown and Lil Wayne “I Can Only Imagine”. He’s one of the most sought after songwriter’s in the business as well as one of the most amazing performers we’ve ever seen and had the pleasure of presenting.
Dana Glover is an absolute FORCE OF NATURE. With powerhouse vocals and soul stirring lyrics, her songs, that have been featured on numerous major motion picture and television soundtracks, have an instant effect on anyone within earshot. She was recently showcased on Desperate Housewives alongside the legendary Dave Koz and is easily one of the best vocalists/song-writers we've ever heard in real life.
David Ryan Harris is what I like to call an “artist’s artist”, having garnered the immense respect of fellow artists and musicians throughout his career with his heartfelt lyrics and mind/life altering live performances. After touring the globe a several times over with John Mayer as his right-hand man on guitar and background vocals, he is focused on his solo career and writing with, playing with and/or producing artists from Dave Matthews, Marc Broussard to Natasha Beddingfield, Santana and John Mayer. He is also one of the realest dudes I've ever met.
Amanda Dumas and I go back at least 8 years. When I first moved to LA and was singing background for a few artists I had the distinct pleasure of hearing her perform live and was absolutely blown away. A former Uiversal/Sony Publishing artist whose musical style would best be described as Eclectic Soul. She's opened up for Earth Wind and Fire and Chaka Khan at the Greek Theater and shared stages with the likes of Lalah Hathaway, Ledisi, Tyler Hilton and the legendary Etta James. We're so excited she is going to be a part of the evening!
After the concert, there will be a mini showcase/jam session featuring artists Keaton Simons, David & Devine, JT Spangler, Davey G, and Afro Blue's Danielle Withers.
The evening will begin PROMPTLY at 7:00pm on Saturday, June 30th and the ticket proceeds are benefitting charity.
We, along with our partners Dale Godboldo Enterprises Inc and Joseph Garner, are so excited about this next chapter and we want to thank you for being a part of this family we've all created over the past few years.
~ Angelique and David
