Green@Home Volunteer HouseCall Training in Palo Alto 9/12/12 & 9/20/12
Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 5:30 PM - Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 9:30 PM (PDT)
Palo Alto, CA
Important: Please buy 2 tickets, one for September 12th and the other for September 20th. Full training requires attendance on both days.
Acterra's Green@Home trains Volunteers to become Energy Experts and perform free energy-saving HouseCalls for residents in Cupertino, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Redwood City and the Winchester neighborhood of San Jose. Trained volunteers provide energy assessments and install free energy-saving devices, such as:
· retractable clotheslines
· compact fluorescent light bulbs
· faucet aerators
· low-flow showerheads and aerators
Green@Home volunteer trainings consist of two, 4-hour classes. Each HouseCall is approximately 2.5 hours long and volunteers work in pairs. We ask those who complete the training to volunteer for approximately two HouseCalls a month with a minimum of 10 HouseCalls over the course of the year. You must be over 18 to participate.
Because some people want to take our training without making a volunteer commitment, we ask for a deposit of $30 from all trainees at the first training session to cover our costs. This $30 materials fee will be refunded when a minimum of two HouseCalls is performed in the first two months following the training. (This time frame can be extended with reason.)
This training session will be:
Palo Alto: Wednesday, September 12 & Thursday, September 20, 5:30 – 9:30PM
Location details will be sent to registered participants a week prior to the training. We'll also let you know what to bring and send you a volunteer application to complete.
