WELCOME LETTER & INTRODUCTION.

Welcome!

We’re thrilled to invite you to the Greater Androscoggin Real Estate, Housing & Land Use Conference this November 8th at the Ramada Inn and Conference Center.

You can choose from some very exciting workshops or seminars, many of which offer professional CEUs!  There are 4 real estate related seminar tracks:

v  REALTORs track, offering 8 CEUs approved by the Maine Real Estate Commission

v  The Business of Landlording, for investors & future investors, owners, landlords, & property managers

v  Professionals Track, for building inspectors, surveyors, appraisers, and others

v  Engineers Track, for land use engineers & other professionals.

A yummy lunchtime buffet will include a thought-provoking keynote presentation by Jim Bennett, City Manager of Presque Isle, and former City Administrator for Lewiston, networking and a chance to meet with sponsors and micro-exhibitors.

This is a great opportunity for sponsors, exhibitors, advertisers & presenters from the following disciplines:

... mortgage brokers, appraisers, bankers, title attorneys, housing inspectors, insurers, REALTORs®
... plumbers, electricians, kitchen & bath contractors, pest control agents, movers, flooring & window treatment professionals, landscapers, accountants, lawyers
... property managers, real estate investment groups
... private investors & money lenders
... community development programs, abatement & code enforcement professionals, and more!

Sponsorships, advertising and micro-exhibit spaces are available for nearly any budget; just ask - we’ll gladly give you the details! (Very gladly!)  Note: As of September 27, the micro exhibit spaces are sold out.

The show is produced by The Professional Skills Group/What a Great Event! in tandem with On the Spot Rentals & Building Inspections. The presidents of both organizations (my husband John and I) have extensive experience as residential and commercial landlords & property managers, and are excited to offer this great event!

We would be pleased to speak with you about your possible role in this show!

With Our Best Regards,

Linda & John Snyder

P.S. In March 2013, I (Linda) celebrated my 30th year as a landlord and real estate investor - it's been quite an adventure!

Frequently Asked Questions!

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

There are no ID or other advance requirements to attend, although if you want to earn professional CEUs you must complete the registration form in advance, so we can submit the information to the instructors.  That way they can have your certificates ready for you when the seminar or workshop has completed.

To get a copy of our specific registration form (posted below), you can

  • go to https://www.facebook.com/groups/AndroRealEstateLandlordExpo/ and download it (you'll have to ask to become a group member first, which isn't a bad thing!)
  • sign up for our eletter, which has all sorts of interesting and very important (!) ideas, information, updates and links - just send an email to LSnyder@regroupbiz.com with "Housing Eletter Signup" in the subject line
  • email JSnyder@regroupbiz.com and ask for a copy of the registration form.

I'd like to present a workshop or seminar.  How do I go about doing that?  What is the deadline?

To present a workshop or seminar, please contact JSnyder@regroupbiz.com or call him at 207 713 0674.

There is a two-page workshop proposal form that we appreciate presenters filling out... each question and section is designed to make it a whole lot easier for us to determine if your activity is a good match for our event, and to also be able to market it quickly and easily in our Show Program, our eletter, our blog and on our various social media sites.

We prefer to have our workshops & seminars lined up at least two months before each of our events, but we've come to the realization that there will always be last minute changes, additions, and so forth.

However, the earlier you can get your proposal in and we can get it approved (especially if there are CEUs attached), the more quickly and more often we can help market your expertise via our blog, eletter, and social media posts!  So hurry, hurry, hurry!

(Oh, and in order for the workshop to be included in our Show Program, we really need to have it nailed at least a month in advance of the event.)

PRESENTERS as PAID ADVERTISER, EXHIBITORS and/or SPONSORS:  We've been excited and impressed by the quality and number of people who want to present at our conferences - people who recognize that presenting a seminar is a great opportunity to develop leads and more business for their organization.

However, our first responsibility must be to our paid advertisers, exhibitors and sponsors - and therefore we now give first dibs on presenting workshops to those individuals and businesses.  Makes sense, right?  So if you want to present a seminar or workshop for the important REALTOR, landlord or other housing professional market, your best bet for actually being accepted is to be a paid advertiser, exhibitor or sponsor.  (If we get close to the conference date and don't have enough workshops confirmed, at that point we will look to our waiting list.)

The advantage to you is that you get in front of that audience as an expert, without having to market yourself.  Teaching the workshop IS the marketing.   Having the booth (or sponsorship or ad) just reinforces it all.

In the future, we will be confirming those workshops several months advance of the conference dates, so get your proposal - and financial commitment - in early!

I'd like to advertise in the Conference Program.  How much is it and what is the deadline?

We'd LOVE to have you advertise in the Conference Program!  Prices vary by size, of course.  The deadline for submitting copy and payment for our events varies, but is generally a month prior to the event.

For the November 8, 2013 Greater Androscoggin Real Estate, Housing & Land Use Conference, the deadline for submissions to advertise in the Conference Program is October 19th.

How can I find out more about sponsorships or exhibiting?

The Greater Andro Real Estate, Housing & Land Use Conference will have limited sponsorships and exhibit spaces available, as this event is not a full-fledged expo.  (We plan to have only two full-out real estate professionals expos each year - one in October in Bangor, and one in the spring in Portland.  The 2014 dates are May 01-02 in Portland, and October 30-31 in Bangor.)

However, there are still options for getting your name and business in front of the important real estate market, including mortgage brokers, housing inspectors, REALTORs, surveyors, landlords, property managers and land use engineers.

Your best bet is to contact Linda Snyder directly at 207 740 2247, or by emailing LSnyder@regroupbiz.com.  You can also find information about sponsorships and exhibiting on this webpage under "Tickets".

What is the "Designated Non-Profit Status" all about?

The Professional Skills Group/What a Great Event! always offers a free booth and marketing via a simple one-page "Designated Non-Profit Status" RFP, which is send out to as many non-profits as we can find that might meet the critera (for our Real Estate, Housing & Land Use shows, the criteria are that the non-profit concentrate in large part on shelter, food and/or clothing).

The deadline for the November 8th Andro Show has passed but there will be opportunities at each of our future shows.

John F Murphy Homes, Inc is the Designated Non Profit for the 2013 Greater Androscoggin Real Estate, Housing & Land Use Conference.

Do you have an Exhibitors Manual?

Yes!  Please contact Linda at LSnyder@regroupbiz.com for a copy, or download it from https://facebook.com/groups/AndroRealEstateLandlordExpo.

How often will you repeat this conference?

We will produce the Greater Androscoggin Real Estate, Housing & Landlords Conference every year, most likely in November.

Do you have other, similar, conferences?

You betcha!  Our Greater Bangor Real Estate, Housing & Land Use Expo - a full-fledged conference and trade show - is being held at the brand new Cross Insurance Arena in Bangor on October 31 & November 01.  We are very excited about this show!

Our Greater Portland Real Estate, Housing & Land Use Expo, another full conference and trade show, is in the works for May 01-02, 2014 at Seasons Conference Center in Portland, off Exit 48.

And we are in the process of developing smaller real estate, housing & land use conferences like this Androscoggin one throughout other areas of the state.

I've signed up to be a Sponsor/Exhibitor/Advertiser/Presenter.  I understand The Professional Skills Group/What a Great Event! will be marketing my company & expertise via the various social media.  Who do I contact to make sure you have all the right information?

Jessamyn Hopkins is our Marketing/Social Media Assistant.  She can be reached at JHopkins@regroupbiz.com.

Please send her information and updates that can be included in our blog - http://realestatehousingandlanduse.wordpress.com, in our eletter, on Facebook & Twitter, and on other social media sites.

  • Designated Non Profit Status

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

It depends.

If you've signed up for professional REALTOR CEUs, we're sorry.  Your registration is not transferrable because we have to provide the information listed on it to the instructors in advance so your certificate can be ready once your seminar or workshop is over.  (We really are sorry, since it's a lot more work for us to cancel a registration, refund your money and so forth.)

However, if you have a generic ticket (i.e. no CEUs), there's no problem transferring it to another person.

Can I update my registration information?

Yes, if you have reason to update your information (name, address, workshops you wish to attend, etc) just send us an email at LSnyder@regroupbiz.com with the needed changes.  We'll call you with any questions.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

It's always a good idea in case something goes wrong on our end, but generally speaking, no. We'll have the attendance list at the Registration Table.    However, if your ticket is one that someone else purchased and transferred to you, it would be an excellent idea for you to bring that printed ticket with you.

What is your refund policy for conference tickets?

Our refund policy for each ticket type can be found under the ticket description.  Generally, it is as follows (for this event):

Because we incur expenses that we cannot recapture if a ticket holder cancels, our refund policy is as follows:

  • Refunds on tickets for this event that are requested prior to 11/01/13 will be made less a $10 administrative fee.
  • Ticket refund requests made between 12:00 am on 11/01/13 and 12:00am on 11/7/13 are subject to a 50% ($34.50) administrative fee.
  • Sorry, no ticket refunds after 12:00am on 11/7/13.

What is your refund policy for sponsorships & exhibit booths?

You'll find our refund policy for sponsorships and exhibit booths in the Exhibitors manual.  As you can imagine, the closer we get to an event, the more difficult it is for us to return fees, as we've depended on that money and now have to scramble to find replacements... which may not happen.

Thank you for understanding.
