Great Locomotive Tour, April 14, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Trace the route of the Great Locomotive Chase as it passed through the Dalton-Whitfield County area. The bus tour will begin in the south of the county, where The General was forced to cut short its resupply efforts as the pursuing locomotive Texas approached. The tour will then make its way north, passing through the oldest tunnel in the region at that time; Tunnel Hill. The day will be complete with meals, exploration, and narration from our on-site historian.

8:30 a.m. Depart for Silver Shoe Ranch
The location of Green’s Wood Station, where The General was forced to cut short its resupply efforts as the pursuing locomotive Texas approached. This sealed the fate of Andrews’ Raiders.
Where The Texas dropped off 17-year-old telegrapher Edward Henderson with instructions to alert Confederate forces in Chattanooga.
The 1,477 foot tunnel where Andrews' Raiders began to lose steam. Also the location of the Clisby Austin house, where Gen. William Sherman headquartered at the beginning of his 1864 Atlanta Campaign.

For one night stay:
Check in on April 13 at 4 p.m., checkout on April 14 at 11 a.m.
Check in on April 14 at 4 p.m., checkout on April 15 at 11 a.m.
For two night stay: Check in is April 13, 4:00 p.m., checkout is April 15, at 11:00 a.m.
Be sure to print your ticket and bring it to the front desk when you arrive.
Spirit Walk, April 13-15 (optional)
Walk through West Hill Cemetery, the resting place of over four hundred Civil War soldiers, and encounter the historic figures from that era. The Dalton Little Theater brings the hugely successful Spirit Walk back for its second year.
