In honor of two very beautiful women; Judy Callahan and Yvonne Cordova:

In August 2012 My mom Judy Callahan was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. I'm not sure how to share this story of such a wonderful women and mother, but here goes...

My mother is one of the most selfless women I know. Not only did she raise me, which was a chore in itself, but also my 3 sisters: Jessica, Angie and Nicole. Her and my father have been together since they were 13 and 14 years old. Now that is some dedication, and still till this day, they hold hands. Since cancer has entered her life it’s been not only a curse but also a blessing. Its brought us that much closer as a family. Although I cannot take away this horrible disease, I can show her how much I care, love, and appreciate her. So this event is dedicated to you Mom. Thanks for being such an inspiration, not only in my life but also to so many others. I love you.

My hope is that we can make a difference in finding a cure and to inspire people to truly LivEachDay.

My mother Yvonne Cordova suffered from stage 4 Breast    Cancer and passed away September 10th 2012. This was   not the first time suffering from cancer. My mother had breast cancer many years prior but I was very young so I do not recall too much of what it was like except seeing my mom lose her hair and I didn't really understand why. Throughout my childhood and adolescent years life was pretty normal for me except how often my mom would become ill. In 2010 while in my fire academy, I was home visiting when she told me they had seen something on her mammogram results. I will never forget when I was in my house or how I reacted to the news probably the same way you will never forget where you were the day of 9-11. My heart had sunk because this time I was 21 and well educated in cancer.

Having to see my mother go through something she had gone through before "CHEMO" broke my heart. Months went on and slowly I witnessed the cancer begin to take over my mothers body. She remained so strong as always as she continued to keep working at her elementary school (Lomarena). She loved the people she worked with and absolutely loved the children as her own. Then came the day when she was not able to work anymore. It was as if someone had ripped my soul from within. I knew my time with my mother was coming to and end, watching my mother stay strong during her lifetime of illness has made me want to give back and do what I can to help find a cure for this horrible disease.

My mother cared more about others that herself. I remember her refusing to take pain meds because she did not want to feel "loopy" and wanted to remember her remaining weeks w/ her family. On September 9th 2012 I witnessed my mother leave earth to meet our maker. My mother died wanting to help others and she did. While she was ill she went to a Euro treatment center for cancer and brought to their attention a mushroom from Brazil that eats away at tumors. The Doctors knew nothing of the mushroom so my mother dropped the idea. 6 months after her passing I saw that the facility my mother once went to with the ABM mushroom now is using it to cure cancer. Even though she has passed she continues to help others.

Matt and I had 2 main goals for this event.  First as I expressed to Matt about my mothers ( Judy) current fight against breast cancer.  2nd to continue to Raise awarness for cancer as Yvonne would have wanted…

My Mom is struggling with her co-pays along with other out of pocket expenses/medical expenses.  So I've took on the responsiblity of helping her and my family.  We truly appreciate your love and support and will continue helping people when in need.

As for the event lets have a blast and enjoy the night please feel free to extend this invite to all of your family, friends and friends of friends!

Thank you!
