Great Design - #DCTweetup 32
Wednesday, June 6, 2012 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM (EDT)
Many have seen the infamous Clients From Hell site where designers submit ridiculous things their clients say to them. They're hilarious but can be sadly real for even the best designers. As designs have move from print to web to mobile, designers have to stay on top of all the trends to ensure their clients and the general public are happy. This puts a lot of pressure on these great people especially if they have clients asking for things that will ruin their design efforts. So... we've given them a night to talk to you about it!
Sisarina has put together a dynamic panel of seasoned print and web designers to share their insights on how to be a fantastic client. Jason Malmberg, Casey Kincheloe and Jordan DeVries join Melanie Spring on a 20-minute panel for rapid fire Q&A regarding what makes great design and how clients can help this process. Come learn the facts, figures and fun of what it takes to be a great designer. (ok, and you can network a bunch too!)
As a sponsor of #DCTweetup, Google+ has purchased everyone's first drink. We’re very excited to introduce Google+ Local, a new way to discover and share great local information! Find the perfect place with recommendations from your Google+ circles and Zagat ratings and reviews, on Google+ or on the go, with Google Maps for Android.
Jason Malmberg, Director of Pixels, Sisarina
Jason is a largely self-taught designer who has learned on-the-job over the last decade and a half, working his way up from a newsweekly in Omaha, Nebraska to an internationally-recognized award-winning magazine in California, and now to Sisarina to explore a whole new spectrum of clients, stories and adventures. So far it's been an amazing journey taking my work to 6 continents, over a half dozen awards in both web and print, and a very fulfilling sense of place in the world.
When he's not designing, he's usually…er…designing. He creates "gig posters" and album covers for some of the best bands in the world. Aside from that, you can find him on the dance floor, on Space Mountain, or on the arid polo fields at Coachella every April.
