Grand Rounds: Treatment Of Pelvic Floor Dysfunction

This course will review dysfunctions of the pelvic floor and how physical therapy intervention can be applied. Incidents of urinary leakage, pelvic organ prolapse, and chronic pain as well as pelvic floor anatomy will be discussed. The audience will be educated in appropriate referrals for pelvic floor therapy based on the patient’s diagnosis and presentation. Physical therapy interventions will be discussed pertaining to pelvic floor diagnosis.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND? ALL PHYSICIANS, PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS, NURSE PRACTITIONERS, NURSES AND GRADUATE CLINICAL STUDENTS
PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BE ABLE TO:
Appropriately refer patients for pelvic floor rehabilitation based upon patient's diagnosis and presentation.
Describe physical therapy interventions for pelvic floor weakness dysfunctions.
Describe physical therapy interventions for pelvic floor pain dysfunctions.
