Event Details

Providers are currently faced with the challenge of deciphering new imaging technology and its impact on their diagnostic capabilities.  By ordering correct exams, providers will ensure the quickest diagnosis for patients, faster healing times, and fewer repeated exams.  In this event our Adena radiologists will cover several hot topics in imaging and provide guidance on the most appropriate imaging exams to order.

 

Event is 3 of 4:  
October 12            Body and Contrast         Dr. Sriram Mannava

   ¨Review common imaging pathways for a patient with abnormal vaginal
              bleeding
 

¨Review common imaging techniques and ordering pathways for select hepatic abnormalities 
¨Brief overview of common imaging techniques for evaluating a patient with abdominal pain 
¨Briefly review the indications of oral and intravenous contrast for CT imaging of the body

WHO SHOULD ATTEND? ALL PHYSICIANS, PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS, NURSE PRACTITIONERS, NURSES AND GRADUATE CLINICAL STUDENTS

 

PARTICIPANTS SHOULD BE ABLE TO:
·          ORDER THE BEST IMAGING TEST FOR A GIVEN CLINICAL SCENARIO.
·          DETERMINE WHEN A CONTRAST AGENT IS CONTRAINDICATED BASED ON THE PATIENT’S CLINICAL HISTORY.
·          ORDER THE IMAGING STUDY THAT MOST APPROPRIATELY ANSWERS THE CLINCIAL QUESTION WHILE AVOIDING USING IONIZING RADIATION.

ADENA HEALTH SYSTEM IS ACCREDITED BY THE OHIO STATE MEDICAL ASSOCIATION TO PROVIDE CONTINUING MEDICAL EDUCATION FOR PHYSICIANS. ADENA HEALTH SYSTEM DESIGNATES EACH LIVE EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITY FOR A MAXIMUM OF 1 AMA PRA CATEGORY 1 CREDIT™.

 Category 1 AMA PRA Credits are applicable toward continuing education for nursing licensure.

The Adena Institute for Learning is housed in the PACCAR Medical Education Center, the leading education facility located on the campus of Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. The Institue is comprised of multiple Accademies that support Adena's mission "To Heal, To Educate, To Care" by providing evidence based, timely and effective education to physicians and staff.

Opened in September 2008, the PACCAR Medical Education Center is a dream that became a reality thanks to the cooperation of Adena, local, state, and federal officials, and the community. Through philanthropic grants, our community raised over $5 million to support the construction of the PACCAR Center while Adena Health System contributed $10 million.
