GovCamp Canada 2011
Wednesday, June 8, 2011 from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (EDT)
A New Spirit of Public Sector Innovation
GovCamp Canada 2011, presented by Net Change Week, sponsored by Microsoft and facilitated by The Moment, will be a large gathering of Canada’s “Government 2.0” community coming from all three orders of government across Canada.
GovCamp is created by and for the leaders, innovators and practitioners who are bringing a new spirit of innovation to the public sector.
GovCamp Canada 2011 is the latest in a series of gatherings to connect, share and showcase successes and learnings in four areas: emerging technologies, public involvement, web communications and the culture and methods of public sector innovation.
GovCamp builds upon the work of ChangeCamp, CityCamp, OpenGovWest and many similar “unconference” events, where the participants create the content and where connections are as important as the subject matter.
Microsoft has been the Lead Sponsor of GovCamp in order to provide a platform for members of this community to come together in an open and collaborative manner, to inspire innovation and conversation.
Net Change Week is Canada’s premier event on social tech for social change taking place from June 6-10th at Mars Centre in Toronto. The weeklong series of events features training workshops, evening programming with guest speakers, lab sessions and plenty of opportunity for networking.
The Moment is an innovation studio co-founded by ChangeCamp creator Mark Kuznicki with partners Daniel Rose and Greg Judelman to help organizations in the public, social and private sectors to shape their future through turbulent times by applying strategic change, collaboration and design methods.
Webcasting Services for GovCamp provided by The Streaming Network, Canada’s leading provider of Webcasting and Virtual Event Services.
