Making your own stock is simple, satisfying and cost effective. We'll create a chicken stock that will be used in our Chicken Soup with Dumplings. Next, we'll create a ginger carrot soup that is rich and aromatic...perfect for the coming cold months. Hor d'oeuvers are simple bites that gets your appetite into full gear. Our class will make crispy shrimp cakes with a cilantro remoulade that balances the sweetness of the shrimp with the freshness of herbs. Next is the tasty hand pie called an Empanada. Found in many cultures, this recipe can be modified to fit vegetarian diets easily. Whether fried or baked these are a crowd favorite. Lastly, we'll explore dips for an easy way to entertain without the need to constantly be in the kitchen. You can use crackers, bread or vegetables to pair perfectly with a roasted red pepper and chevre dip. Cost is $85. Class begins at 6:30pm. Take all four classes in Cooking Series for $300.
