Please join Network For Progress, a social and media-savvy grassroots community inspired by the “Yes We Can” Movement of Hope & Change, and OFA Voter Protection for a Digital Capital Week Eve “GOToVa” Networking Mixer & Get Out The Vote Rally for our monthly “1st Thursdays” Progress Party at Local 16. We will enjoy $5 specialty drinks, beers, rail cocktails, house wine & appetizers until 10pm.
Our event is sponsored by the market-leading software provider Salsa Labs, a single, fully-integrated, online platform that helps any nonprofits & political campaigns of all sizes to fundraise, advocate, communicate and organize anytime, anywhere.
We will also be joined by DC Latino Caucus (www.dclc.org), the LGBT community Gertrude Stein Democratic Club (www.steindemocrats.org), Mongtomery County Young Democrats (www.mcyd.org) and Progressive Communicators of DC (www.pcdcnetwork.org).
So, stop by for a fun evening of networking and engaging on the importance of talking to voters offline AND online in the closing moments of the campaign through Election Day so we can win Virginia for President Obama and Tim Kaine!
OFA organizers will be available to get you involved in needed areas like voter protection at the polls especially because of wide-spread Virginia Republican disenfranchisement efforts:
Also, if you're a tech-savvy activist feel free to bring your shameless self-promotion before Digital Capital Week (www.digitalcapitalweek.org) starts on Friday!
After our program at 7pm we will invite attendees to walk down to our grassroots hub in the Woman’s Democratic Club at 1526 New Hampshire Avenue just past Q Street to make 10 calls or more for the President before they go home.

Network For Progress
*ABOUT NETWORK FOR PROGRESS
As of February 10, 2011, the fourth anniversary of the Obama For America campaign, Network For Progress will serve as an interactive and creative online/offline political, civic, professional and personally-enriching Community, Advocate & Resource for the lessons of the "Yes We Can" Movement of Hope and Change to expand on the work of Organizing For America with the Mainstream Majority of Americans (including Democrats, Progressives, Independents, Republicans and those in between comprising young people and many other under-served constituencies) that voted for President Obama in 2008.
Network For Progress will promote the use of 21st Century “bottom up” Communication, Outreach & Leadership/Development grassroots-organizing techniques for an honest dialogue to create the necessary Personal Relationships & Viral Buzz to build a Movement that is continually being revolutionized by the growth of Google, Facebook, Twitter, blogs and other networking tools but was under-utilized after Inauguration Day when the social, social media & Media vacuum of public discourse was filled by Tea Party/Fox News’ coordinated activism and only recently has been valiantly promoted by Jon Stewart’s quest for “Sanity.”
Network For Progress will provide a platform for supporters to become OUR own “Obama” who is empowered to bring PROGRESS to our professional and personal lives as well as our town, our state, our nation and our world.
“Network For Hope. Network For Change. Network For PROGRESS.”
