About Virginia WPF
The Virginia chapter of Women in Public Finance (Virginia WPF) was founded in April, 2012 to advance women’s opportunities by fostering relationships and by mentoring and strengthening the next generation of leaders in public finance. Mentoring efforts are among the ranks of women currently within this field (i.e., providing strong role models, answering questions regarding challenges specific to working women) and with women in college (i.e., promoting the benefits of careers in public finance, offering scholarships). Virginia WPF hosts six to eight events per year throughout the Commonwealth and the District of Columbia.
Virginia WPF is one of seven chapters of a national organization (Women in Public Finance: www.wpfc.com) that was established in 1997. The Virginia chapter was established for professionals who work within the Commonwealth of Virginia and the District of Columbia. Participants include state and local government issuers, not-for-profit issuers, investment bankers, attorneys, financial advisors, rating agency analysts, trust officers, and municipal market investors.
