Immerse yourself in the food, music and culture of an exotic destination, Afghanistan. You have only heard about the political system of the country so far, but now you can experience the richness of its unique people and culture. The restaurant's menu was created by Chef Najib Nawabi, who himself migrated from Kabul to New York 30 years ago after being injured in the Afghan-Russian war. He was rendered partially paralyzed and still continues to cook from his wheelchair. Nawabi has opened several restaurants in Florida and Virginia, and believes that the dinner table is the most important part of a household.
You will be hearing from keynote speaker, Ruth Howarth, a resident of Atlanta who is a Task Manager for Afghan National Police and Afghan National Army Site Assessments in Afghanistan for past 5 years. She will share her perspectives on living & working in Kabul.
Owner, Nilo Aziz, who is also from Kabul and a former Oriental rug business owner, will personally show you his true Central Asian hospitality. During the evening, you will get to enjoy a traditionally cooked multiple course Afghan dinner including world famous Kabuli pulao with lamb carrots and raisins, perfectly seasoned kebabs and delicious pumpkin stew...only to name a few! Come enjoy a one of a kind dinner experience in an artistically decorated ambiance.
Finally, artist, choreographer and instructor, Sanam of Sanam Studios in Atlanta will give a performance to traditional Afghan folk tunes at the event. If you have not seen her perform before, you are in for a very special treat!
