GLSEN Baltimore wants YOU!

In preparation for the upcoming school year, GLSEN Baltimore is assembling a fresh, new squad of volunteers who will assist us with all of the great work being done in Baltimore schools. During this training, you will learn about GLSEN as a national organization, our mission, our work in Baltimore, and how you can be a part.

Join us for this new volunteer training on Saturday June 28th from 9am to 3pm. We are hosting the training in the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) office, which is located behind the Govans-Boundary Parish United Methodist Church. Parking is free. Both breakfast and lunch will be served. Registration is FREE! Register today for this event and join us as we prepare to inspire more change in Baltimore schools.

GLSEN Baltimore

The Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network (GLSEN) is the leading national organization devoted to ensuring safe spaces for all students to learn--especially those who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT). Bias-based bullying and harassment against LGBT students continues its prevalence in today's classrooms. Through research, we have discovered that these victimized students suffer from lower grades and poor health as a result of harassment.

GLSEN Baltimore is the local chapter organization of teachers, social workers, health providers and activists in the community, gathered to tackle the issues we face and to support our students here in Baltimore. Through a program titled Safe Space for All - Baltimore, devised by GLSEN Baltimore members, we have established a relationship with Baltimore City Public Schools to educate teachers, students, administrators and other school staff about the importance
