Join the Bay Area Climbers Coalition in partnering with the San Francisco Parks and Recreation department to take on some needed cleaning and maintenance around the climbing areas in Glen Canyon.
Getting to Glen Canyon Park
We will break-up into teams to take on the following work around the climbing area:
Safety - We are HUGE on safety! There will be a safety talk at 10am on the day of the event.
Please note that we require all participants to be present for the safety talk and wear closed toe shoes and long pants.
Unfortunately, we cannot allow anyone to participate that does not wear closed toe shoes, long pants and/or attend the safety talk.
Parking - Parking in the nearby residential areas can be tricky. Please try and carpool with other climbers from your area. The Glen Park BART station is about a 10 minute walk from the park if you want to avoid the parking fun.
You can arrange carpools via the Bay Area Climbers Coalition's facebook group.
Food - Lunch will be provided for all volunteers. We will also have CLIF Bars on hand to fuel your hard work before and after lunch.
Water - We will have large jugs of water. If you have a water bottle, please bring it with you.
Tools - we will be getting tools and gloves from the San Francisco Parks department, you are also welcome to bring your own lucky shovel, push broom, or gloves.
The Bay Area Climbers Coalition is a volunteer run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on preserving access to our local outdoor areas by actively fostering positive relationships with land managers, hosting stewardship events, and providing educational programming for the climbing community.
