Southern Exposure is excited to announce Asher Hartman’s new experimental play Glass Bang. This two-hour live, public play will take place in a private home in San Francisco and is produced in partnership with Machine Project (Los Angeles, CA) and Cannonball (Miami, FL).
In Glass Bang, artist Asher Hartman’s new abstract play, a man becomes so alienated from himself at mid-life that he is split into two beings, gradually becoming a deity whose creative and destructive impulses have a profound effect on his closest friends. This two-hour live play takes place in a private home where the dialogue unfolds around the viewers who become immersed in the action.
Beneath the non-linear mythically charged plot is a terse exploration of psychological violence, debt, friendship, and the American quest for security. Musical, nastily funny, and haunting, Glass Bang makes us think about the deep emotional attachment we have to the material world.
Written and directed by Asher Hartman with his company Gawdafful Theater, the play features actor/artists Franc Baliton, Rochelle Fabb, Michael Morrissey, Paul Outlaw, Joe Seely, and the work of musical director Jasmine Orpilla.
(Running Time: 2 hours. Refreshments provided.)
