Join Nicole E. Shields Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Sweet Georgia’s Juke Joint 4:00pm - 6:00pm for Giving Grace: 25th Birthday Fundraiser. Donations will be given to nonprofit organization Polished for Prom, a medium for young women in high school with adverse backgrounds to attend prom. In addition to an all inclusive prom experience Polished for Prom hosts workshops incorporating leadership and career development.
Nicole chose this organization not only because it allows young women to enjoy a milestone moment, but it also provides positive workshops for personal/career development. Nicole has been a part of numerous organizations that encourage leadership including Alliance for Women in Media and currently active with World Affairs Council of Atlanta and Black Public Relations Society.
She chose a birthday fundraiser because it is a chance to celebrate life and allow young women to follow their own path of professional development. The donations will grant Polished for Prom funding for more candidates Spring 2014.
Our donation goal is $500 by Saturday, October 5, 2013. Help Nicole and Polished for Prom reach – or exceed – this purpose.
Use hashtag #GivingGrace on all social media outlets.

What is a birthday fundraiser?
A birthday fundraiser is a new philanthropic trend where the individual celebrating chooses to donate to an organization of their choice instead of receiving gifts.
Is your birthday October 5th?
No, it is October 7th.
If I make a donation and I plan to attend the dinner do I get free food?
No, the donation goes strictly towards the organization. However, parking is validated if you use the deck assigned to Sweet Georgia’s Juke Joint. Please see How Much Do I Pay for Parking for info.
Can I make an in person donation at the event?
What do I get out of this?
Not only will you help young women attend prom, but you also help build leaders in the community. You can also claim your nonprofit donation on your 2013 taxes.
I want to make a donation, but do not want to attend the dinner.
That is perfectly fine!
What is the hashtag #GivingGrace about?
This is to track all pictures and conversations made about the event.
How should I dress if I attend the dinner?
Guys – no jeans, t-shirts and sneakers.
Ladies – no flip-flops, skinny jeans are appropriate.
What and where is Sweet Georgia’s Juke Joint?
How much do I pay for parking?
Parking will be validated by Sweet Georgia's Juke Joint.
important parking information via Sweet Georgia's Juke Joint:
"We offer $10 valet parking or validated deck parking. To proceed to the parking deck, continue past Juke Joint on Peachtree Street. Turn right at the second light, onto Forsyth Street, followed by an immediate right onto Carnegie Way. The deck is located on block down on your left, between Fairlie Street and Cone Street. As the Atlanta Street Car Project advances up Peachtree, the following street closings and detours should be considered:
North bound on Peachtree Street at or before Forsyth
