The Autism Trust USA

In 1998, Polly Tommey's son, Billy, was diagnosed with autism.  "Being told your precious child has autism can be heartbreaking and frightening.  My son Billy was diagnosed with severe autism when he was just over two years old. I am happy to say that we have come a long way since that time. He is now 18 years old and his progress is ongoing. That progress is due in no small part to the excellent biomedical and educational interventions we were able to access for him."

Realizing the needs of the autism community, as well as having vast resources and knowledge to assist them, in 2007 Polly founded The Autism Trust in the United Kingdom.  After much success in the UK, the Tommey family relocated to the United States in 2012 to further assist the ever-growing autism patient population.

The mission of The Autism Trust is to provide futures with purpose for all individuals with autism and associated conditions. The goal of The Autism Trust USA is to build a revolutionary facility in Austin, Texas, which will offer vocational, educational, wellness, and semi-independent residential resources for individuals and families impacted by autism. Focused on full spectrum support and community integration, The Autism Trust USA will provide a supportive and nurturing environment that will foster independence, build life skills, and generate community engagement and awareness of the vast capabilities of individuals with autism.  While Austin, Texas, will be the first location, The Autism Trust USA plans to partner with other communities to build this successful and vitally important model within other geographic regions.
