Event Details

Girl  Rising is a groundbreaking feature film about the strength of the human  spirit and the power of education to transform societies. The film presents the remarkable stories  of nine girls around the world striving beyond circumstance and overcoming nearly insurmountable odds to achieve their dreams. The powerful storytelling delivers a simple, critical truth: educate girls and you will change the world.

After the movie, join a panel discussion moderated by Anthony Gold, Chairman of Healthy Humans along with technology entrepreneur, Yasmine Mustafa, who leads the Philadelphia chapter of Girl Develop It, a national organization dedicated to empowering women of diverse backgrounds to learn how to develop software.

High school students and youth groups are welcome to attend. For group tickets, contact Suzanne Cruit at syk123@psu.edu

The film is rated PG13 for mature content. There is no violence, nudity or swearing but there are some difficult themes and images.
