Park Heroes, if you love the Greenville Health System Swamp Rabbit Trail and you love to volunteer, then join us Saturday, November 23 from 9:00am - 12:00pm. We need your help clearing back ground cover vegetation to improve lines of sight at the Washington Street crossing 1/4 mile south of the Swamp Rabbit Cafe' and Grocery. After a brief lesson on pruning and equipment use, volunteers will tackle the four corners of the intersection, opening the view of approaching runners and cyclists to see oncoming vehicles.
This project is not recommended for young children.
Date / Time: Saturday, November 23 9:00am - 12:00pm
Location: Park at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church located at 115 Cedar Lane Road, Greenville, SC 29601 - Once you park, walk over the bridge to the Swamp Rabbit Cafe' and Grocery. Registration will be at the pop up tent.
Goodies: Donuts / Pastries / Coffee will be provided. Park Hero T-Shirts available while supplies last.
What to Bring:
1. Closed Toed Shoes
3. Bug Spray / Sunscreen
4. Hand Pruners, Loppers, & Hand Saws if you have them

Q. How do I register a group?
A. Please have one person volunteer to be the main point of contact for your group. Ask them to complete the online registration. When it prompts you to enter a quantity, enter the total number of people in your group including the main contact person.

Q. What are Park Heroes?
A. A Park Hero is anyone who volunteers their time to help preserve, protect, and maintain our public parks in Greenville County. The Park Hero effort is a project of the Greater Greenville Parks Foundation in partnership with the Greenville County Recreation. REI Greenville awarded the Greater Greenville Parks Foundation a grant to support this project. Thanks REI!
Q. What if I want to be a Park Hero but I cannot make the this event?
A. No problem, you can register as a Park Hero at http://www.parkheroes.org and we will keep you informed as volunteer opportunities arise.
Q. What should I wear?
A. Always wear closed toed shoes. Be prepared to work hard and possibly get a little dirty. If a project requires anything specific, we will let you know.
Q. What should I bring?
A. Typically, we provide tools. If we need extra we will let you know. You should bring water, a snack, any medications you may need especially for alergic reactions to bees, ants, etc, sunscreen, and bug spray.
