They say theaters hold the essence of those who've performed there...
Join the star of TruTV's Haunting Evidence and recurring judge on Travel Channel's Paranormal Challenge, Patrick Burns, and with his wife, young adult paranormal author and ghost huntress, Marley Gibson, on March 3, 2012, as they investigate the historic State Theater.
The doors to the historic State Theater will be opened for our exploration and investigation on Saturday night. The arc-deco style theater opened its doors in 1942 and was the chief entertainment complex for the city until it closed in 1982. In its days of operation, the theater saw much segregation with white and black patrons seated in separate areas, entering through different doors, and purchasing tickets in segregated groups. In 2009, the historic structure was substantially revitalized back to its 1940s charm. As with so many old theaters, stories of spirits and ghosts from the past run rampant here.
