The next meeting of the Perth SharePoint User Group is on the 28th August 2014 with a presentation on SharePoint Search.
Getting the most out of SharePoint Search
SharePoint Search has progressed a long way from its origins as a limited tool to find content (if you were lucky!) within your SharePoint sites. From the introduction of the ability to integrate with FAST in SharePoint 2010, to a fully integrated search with FAST under the hood “out of the box” in SharePoint 2013, organisations now have a search architecture available to them to enable a broad spectrum of valuable business outcomes. With Office 365 and Azure bringing down the costs of infrastructure, and the uptake of cloud based infrastructure increasing exponentially there is a renewed focus for IT spend on driving outcomes for users, not just keeping the lights on.
Join Zane and Ben, two of Ignia’s leading SharePoint consultants, for a demo-focussed session of the key areas of Search in Office 365 and SharePoint, including:
· UI configuration (Result Sources and Types, Query Rules, and Managed Properties)
· Customisation (Display Templates and the Content Search Web Part), and
· Deployment Options (Configuration Export & Import, PowerShell and SharePoint Apps)
The session is intended to provide functional and technical insight without getting too far into deep dive territory, and is aimed at end users, power users, and developers.
