    This talk will provide a brief  overview of the various forms of IP protection with a particular focus on patents from an experienced IP attorney and former engineer.  Come get an introduction to understanding what it is exactly that patent covers, developing your invention and protecting your rights, filing a patent application, building a patent portfolio and developing a patent strategy to increase the value of your inventions.

    About Our Speaker: 



    Nina Borders is an associate at Reed Smith in their Intellectual Property Litigation Group, focusing on patent and trademark prosecution, counseling, and enforcement. Nina has represented clients in a wide range of patent, trademark, and trade secret matters in food, chemical, pharmaceutical, biochemical, mechanical, and software technologies. She has experience with reexamination proceedings before the Patent Office and oversees domestic and international trademark and patent portfolios for clients in a variety of industries.  Nina also has significant experience with trademark registration and counseling.  Nina is a registered patent attorney, and has a broad technical background, with nearly 10 years of experience in the food and pharmaceutical industries prior to beginning her legal career with Reed Smith.
