Families Helping Families of Southeast Louisiana & Metroplitan Human Services District Present a Parent Training & Workshop for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities:

Get The Right Plan To Avoid A Behavioral Health Meltdown

 

Individuals with developmental disabilities can be at risk for crisis situations ranging from wandering to behavioral health episodes.  In order to develop the most effective plan, you must be aware of how to manage and resolve a crisis and interact with first responders.

Presenters are:

Dr. Jay Sevin, OCDD/Greater New Orleans Resource Center, discussing prevention and management of a crisis situation with helpful tips

Kay Hunter, Metropolitan Crisis Response Team (MCRT), explaining MCRT's services, who they are, what they do and how to interact with First Responders - Fire Fighters, EMTs and Police Officers

Ave’ Sears, LCSW, MPH, LSU Interim Hospital Mental Health Emergency Room, describing what happens when your family member is taken to the hospital and how families can help resolve the crisis situation.
