The Society of Women Engineers at Georgia Tech is pleased to be hosting an engineering outreach program,targeted for females in grades 5-8 who are interested in math, science, or engineering.
The program will be offered:
Sunday November 4th, 12:00pm - 5:00 pm
on the Georgia Tech Bill Moore Student Success Center.
Space is limited to 150 girls on a first-come, first-serve basis, so register early!
There will be a parent's information program free of charge for the parents of attendees! Only tickets for the girls are required, no ticket needed for the parents!!!
Additional details will be e-mailed to those registered closer to the event.
Through the program, middle school girls will be:
- Introduced to various engineering majors and career options
- Encouraged to pursue an interest in math, science and engineering through hands-on experiences
- Provided with the opportunity to meet one-on-one with current female engineering students
Tentative activities will include:
- Hands-on projects and activities
- Georgia Tech Student question & answer panel
- Morning Parents Program to help parents encourage their daughters with engineering

Georgia Tech Society of Women Engineers
The Georgia Tech Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is an organization primarily devoted to education. SWE's mission statement reminds members and officers to increase community and campus awareness of the opportunities in science and engineering, especially for young women.
In order to reach the community, SWE relies on outreach programs including High School Outreach, Middle School Outreach and Girl Scouts Outreach. Campus awareness is achieved with informative weekly meetings open to all and involvement with such campus events as Engineers Week, the Women's Leadership Conference and Women's Awareness Month.
