George Weigel speaks on Blessed John Paul II: Man of Faith!
Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 7:00 PM to 9:30 PM (MST)
Phoenix, United States
The John Paul II Resource Center for Theology of the Body and Culture presents:
5th Annual Celebration of Heroic Love and Life
with international speaker and foremost papal biographer
Mr. Weigel will take us on an adventure to explore Blessed John Paul II as a radically converted Christian disciple, a man whose literary and philosophical work, priestly and Episcopal work, and papal accomplishment all flowed from a thorough conversion to Christ and an intense personal friendship with Him.
He will continue to share with us how the pontificate of Blessed John Paul II marked a "hinge" on which the Church completed its turn from the Church of the Counter-Reformation (formed in the 16th century) to the Church of the New Evangelization. He will then link all of this to the Great Jubilee of 2000 and the apostolic letter Novo Millennio Ineunte, which charged the entire Church to go out "into the deep" of post-modernity to convert the world.
You will also be invited to make either a one-time or monthly contribution to the work of the Resource Center so that we may continue Blessed John Paul II’s legacy in the Diocese of Phoenix.
A catered dessert and coffee reception will follow. Please invite family and friends from near and far to join you for this exceptional event!
