GDG Pre-Startup Weekend Manila Bootcamp - August 2013
Saturday, August 17, 2013 from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM (PHT)
Startup Weekend + GDG
Google Technology User Groups and Startup Weekend are joining forces to help developers and entrepreneurs become more successful!
By harnessing experts from local GDGs, Pre-Startup Weekend bootcamps will focus on teaching people about Google technologies like AdSense, AppEngine, Maps, and different Google APIs that can help them work faster and be more productive during their Startup Weekend project.
During a Startup Weekend there isn't a lot of time for attendees to learn and implement new technologies. By leveraging experienced and knowledgeable members to teach Startup Weekend attendees, we can teach developers new technologies, platforms, services, or APIs.
What do I need to prepare?
Please bring your laptops, usb/wifi internet sticks and extension cords.
Pitching 101 - Stefano Fazzini of TwitMusic
Project Management - Ann Jacobe of Shoephoric
Business Model & Customer Development - Kenneth Reyes-Lao of WeddingLabs
Publicity and Social Media - Ros Juan, Social Media Strategist
Teamwork - Riela Antonio of Ventee
Technical sessions include AppEngine, HTML5, and Maps CodeLabs. We're also giving away $1000 worth of AppEngine credits, details to be announced during the bootcamp!
About Startup Weekend
Startup Weekends are 54-hour events designed to provide superior experiential education for technical and non-technical entrepreneurs. Beginning with Friday night pitches and continuing through brainstorming, business plan development, and basic prototype creation, Startup Weekends culminate in Sunday night demos and presentations. Participants create working startups during the event and are able to collaborate with like-minded individuals outside of their daily networks. All teams hear talks by industry leaders and receive valuable feedback from local entrepreneurials. The weekend is centered around action, innovation, and education. Whether you are looking for feedback on a idea, a co-founder, specific skill sets, or a team to help you execute, Startup Weekends are the perfect environment in which to test your idea and take the first steps towards launching your own startup.
