In the midst of your studies, work, ministry and the hectic pace of life, we invite you to take a day off for a silent retreat dedicated to the care and nurture of your own soul. The Soul Sabbath sponsored by the Pierce Center at GCTS, is your opportunity to rest, be refreshed and renewed in the Lord.
Please plan to arrive at the retreat site promptly at 9:00 AM so that you can gather together for a short introduction of the day and a few moments of group prayer and reflection. You will learn at that time how you will use the remainder of our day. You will have opportunity for your own times of solitude indoors and out, as well as group worship, noon meal, and the option of meeting one-on-one with a spiritual director. The Soul Sabbath will conclude at 4:00 PM.
Please bring your Bible, journal and pen. You will not need any other books or resources (unless, of course, you are currently using a favorite devotional or guide to prayer). You will want to be free from all distractions (including school work) so that, in the stillness, you will hear God’s voice.
Please know that we are in prayer in your behalf as you prepare for this day of Soul Sabbath. I trust that you will be spiritually refreshed and renewed!
