Event Details

Growing native plants is a valuable contribution to Colorado's ecosystems.  We will be studying how to incorporate native plants into existing gardens as well as starting new gardens.  Native plants that work well in home gardens will be discussed along with noxious weeds and planting conditions.  A list of resources including seed sources, local nurseries, books and websites will be provided.

Instructor:  Kathy Brown's home town is San Diego, California. She moved to Denver in 1995. She volunteers as a naturalist at Roxborough State Park, as a Master Gardener for the CSU Extension office and as a Native Plant Master trainer in Jefferson County.

Registration:  Open to anyone on a paid registration basis.  Class size is limited, so register early.

Prerequisite:  Basic Botany is helpful but not required.

Native Plant Master:  Class does not count toward certification as a Native Plant Master.  For more information, see www.nativeplantmaster.org

When to meet:  Please arrive at 6:15 PM. Class begins 6:30 PM sharp.
