Celebrate the completion of GameSave's first round July 15th at GAFTA in San Francisco. Live music, interactive art, play through the games created for GameSave.

We'll start at 19:00 on Friday night and run until 23:00 with smooth dance tunes provided by Ms Vikki Wilson. Live performance by Moldover - musical supervillian, and another secret musician. Play the games created by GameSave developers on projectors, interact with pieces of digital art, and drink a couple beers with other geeks!

DJ Vikki Wilson will spin the night away:

Over her 16-year career as a DJ and promoter, Vikki Wilson has worked with a number of well-known bands and other DJs in the Virginia and Washington, DC area, as well as across the U.S. Her guest spots in clubs and events include Freaks United in Washington DC, Dracula's Ball in Philadelphia, Convergence 14 in Ybor City/Tampa FL, and many others. Vikki's taste in music is very eclectic and she loves to blend genres to get people on the dance floor. Vikki's DJ style is both creative and logical, and she will sometimes mix a few well-chosen samples (for those listening) while also taking risks and switching the music up during her performance.

Moldover, musical supervillian will stun us with his ways:

If technology and music are your life, brace yourself- Moldover is about to reformat your soul. Hailed by 700,000 YouTube viewers as “The Godfather of Controllerism”, Moldover is a new breed of music icon. Combining the charisma of a rock star, the mad genius of a basement inventor, and the radical inclusiveness of the DIY internet generation, Moldover is “literally throwing away the rule book and reinventing the wheel” (Remix Magazine). Witness his balls-to-the-wall live show at a club, experience his multiplayer music installations at a festival, or pick up and play the “light theramin” packaging of his debut album and understand why the next paradigm for music is a one-man-brandcalled Moldover.

About GameSave

GameSave is a hack-a-thon style event which takes place over the course of 5 weeks, during which multiple teams of game developers and emergency relief professionals will each create a complete game concept and working demo aimed at an aspect of disaster relief. Teams can be assembled in several ways. A team can be composed of independent individuals who organize themselves initially through our registration site and wiki. Teams can also be sponsored as a unit by their respective employers.

There will be an organization and planning period where team members will be expected to communicate with one another via the wiki and by whatever other methods they so choose.

Ideally, teams will meet for a intensive hack-a-thon session in Seattle, Washington where they will meet with disaster relief personnel for vital information, as well has have sequestered time for the bulk of the build. When the hack-a-thon is up, teams will return to their homes and continue to collaborate and polish their concept for submission. Participation is possible even if travel is not, because all location-specific happenings and presentations will be livestreamed.

Additionally, travel scholarships will become increasingly available to qualified participants as sponsorship allows.

Each concept/demo will be judged by a panel of experts in the fields of game design and emergency management.
