Mark Heggen is a professional game designer who has been pushing the boundaries of experimental game design for almost a decade. As an early member of Area/Code Games, Mark helped design games such as early Facebook hit Parking Wars and cult classic Drop7, as well as education and social intervention projects like Macon Money and Budgetball. After the studio’s acquisition by Zynga, he worked on games with millions of daily players. He helped establish the New York office of real-world gameplay pioneers Hide&Seek, and is now Director of Entertainment Applications for the AMC television network. Mark has designed card games, new sports, massively multiplayer games, alternate reality games, mobile titles, and a game you play with actual sharks. He has also taught game design at NYU, the New York Film Academy, and the University of Detroit.
