Improsia; life... unknown...
Theatre meets instant inspiration when three strange 'observers' of
human behavior and their handler Ms. Davenport instantly create a single
story that centers on a moral or ethical question provided by the
audience. This show is funny, smart, and serious.
Improsia's hallmark is the actors sharing the characters, often swapping
roles and moving seamlessly in and out of scenes without warning.
Improsia's unique approach to scene transitions is that a scene only is
over when ever actor individually is done with the scene. Multiple
scenes appear simultaneously on stage. They've even been known to have
the same character played by two actors on stage at the same time.
Improsia's show also has a meta-improv layer. It adds theatricality
by creating characters and backstory. The main characters are the ones
improvising. Every second an audience attends an Improsia show, from the
moment they enter the theater, is performance. The show 'begins' before
it even begins.
