Keynote (Day 1) - Engagement-Education-Employment: Realities and Potential

Ron Canuel, President and Chief Executive Officer, Canadian Education Association (CEA)

Over the past four decades, the promise and potential of technology in classrooms has bRon Canueleen much heralded, debated, analyzed and discussed. Within these conversations or debates, outcomes desired for such new learning and teaching environments remain "hazy" and depending on where you live, even have significant different definitions. The oft-used "21st Century Skills and Classroom" image continues to generate more questions than answers. But are there simply some fundamental issues that education systems currently retain that inhibit change from happening? What are the effects of such "systems" that actually prevent the creation of a workforce that can be successful in the present and the future?

Ron Canuel will share his insights into this area of investigation that truly requires creating new paradigms of learning and teaching. And you will be surprised to hear what the solutions are!
