Presentation: Extreme Green Building and Universal Free Online Green Education by Fred Stitt, Architect.. Green building has been politicized and is under attack these days as a left wing conspiracy.  This has led to much disinformation in media and a mini epidemic of ecophobia. No matter, there is so much that is advantageous -- economically, socially, and environmentally -- that the movement is unstoppable. This presentation will show why and will show how buildings and even whole communities (including floating seasteads) will be comecompletely self-sufficient in energy, food, and waste management. Fred will show how new buildings and retrofits can be totally independent of all outside services, pay for themselves, and even become profit centers for their owners. In the more extended future, buildings will be 3-D printed or grown rather than built and even have degrees of consciousness, mobility, and shape-shifting abilities.

Fred Stitt is an architect, and founder of the San Francisco Institute of Architecture (SFIA).   SFIA was founded to solve problems in architectural education and was the first, and is still the largest, school of sustainable architecture and green building in the world. He published the first textbook on the subject -- the Ecological Design Handbook -- has conducted dozens of conferences and hundreds of workshops on the subject and is completing two new books on the most radical green technologies. Fred is also the founder of the Free Minds Institute, an online school of Singularity and Libertarian Studies that eventually will offer accredited higher education at little or no cost world wide.
