Future Leaders Board Event: The Business of Music

July 30th 2014

The Business of Music presented by the New York Future Leaders Board will be a thought leadership discussion on the business of the music industry. The music industry has undergone huge transformation in the past decade with the emergence of Apple itunes and more recently startups such as Pandora and Spotify. The industry is at a very interesting phase of its development.

Band Announced: Black River Manifesto

NYC based Black River Manifesto has built up a reputation for intense and unpredictable live shows, veering between punk, noise, blues and then haunting surf.

The expert panel has now been confirmed...

Naomi McMahon

Chris Walker
Ex Digital Marketer at Sony

Gary Cohen
Director of Brand Aid Music Marketing

Paul Byrom
Irish tenor, who's recent albums have topped the Amazon, iTunes and world Billboard charts

Moderated by Michelle McCarthy

Questions we have posed to our expert panel to discuss are:

  • How can emerging artists build and monetize audiences?
  • What will the record companies of the future look like?
  • Explain the power or brand partnerships. How does that work with marketing agencies?
  • What’s the future of digital in music?
  • Where are the opportunities for Irish and Irish American musicians in this fast changing industry?
  • What are some of the lessons the panel have learned in the last 18 months about the music industry?
