Kids – Grandparents Day is September 7th. Celebrate by taking charge of Sunday dinner! Bring your grandparent, sibling or friend and team together, or cook by yourself. You’ll prepare Tuscan Chickpea Crostini, Lasagna with Turkey Sausage, and Raspberry-Almond Bars. Learn to cook with love – grandparent-style!This class is recommended for ages 10-13, and grandparents attend for free. Techniques Covered: Reading a recipe, organizing and measuring ingredients, following kitchen safety, mixing, cutting vegetables, sautéing, and using a food processor.

Thyme in the Kitchen

Thyme in the Kitchen, where the epicurious come to cook!  Explore your own culinary world with Sunset Foods.  "Thyme in the Kitchen" cooking classes are offered at our Lake Forest, Long Grove and Northbrook stores.  We have the equipment and expertise to teach recipes and techniques from the simple to the sublime. 


Whether you're looking for some fun time out with friends or you want to expand your repertoire and improve your skills, we're here to help.  The majority of our classes are hands-on, intermingled with wellness/educational seminars and food demonstrations.  Classes are available for children and adults. We are also happy to host private classes. 


Our hands-on classes accommodate from six to eight stations.  Each station is prepped with ingredients and tools for all recipes to make your experience fun and hassle-free.  The intimate environment of our studios permits personalized instruction, so you get the most from you culinary experience.
