Mark has been a mentor and role model for many of the youth in our community. He is a long time soccer coach for Michigan Alliance and Brighton High School. Mark has given a lot to the community and now it’s time for us to give back to him.
Mark is 30 years old, husband to Christina, and father of a beautiful baby boy Gabriel who was born in October. He has recently been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and has had a very complex whipple surgery, in which the top of his pancreas, half of his stomach, his ...gall bladder, part of large intestine, and piece of the colon has been removed. Starting in January of 2013, he will begin chemotherapy treatment and this begins with a trip to MD Anderson Cancer and Research Center where his “chemo cocktail” will be developed. We are raising money to assist with all of the medical bills during his battle with cancer over the next year or longer. He has a very positive outlook on this whole diagnosis, and believes he can beat it.
This fundraising event will include hors d' oeuvres, music, live and silent auctions with all proceeds to benefit Mark and his family. Entertainment provided by "House of Cards", with special musical guests Paulina Jayne and X Factor's Jeffrey Gutt. Meet and greet WDIV Channel 4's Steve Garagiola and Actor/Producer Vince Orlando. A cash bar will be available.
