Elizabeth Crowell (Moderator)
Elizabeth is the co-owner of Sterling Place, a multichannel retail company that sells eclectic antiques, fine home decor and specialty gifts. Her positive experience as an entrepreneur inspired her to assist other women to achieve their dream of business ownership. Elizabeth draws on her experience from both sides of the table as an entrepreneur and an investor by writing a Funding 101 series for the award-winning magazine, TheNextWomen.com. Elizabeth is a member of several boards including the Atlantic Avenue BID, where she spent five years as the Founding Chair and the Leadership Advisory Board of the Girls Scouts of Greater NYC. She also serves on the Advisory Board of a Philantech, a private company.
Jennifer Dundas began her professional acting career as a child, making her Broadway, TV and film debuts at ages 10, 11 and 12. Though her film/TV experience is long and varied, Jennifer is best known for her work in the New York theatre. In October 2007, she added “entrepreneur” to her list of credits with the opening of Blue Marble Ice Cream in Brooklyn. With her business partner, Alexis Miesen, in five short years she has built Blue Marble from one small storefront to a multi-outlet brand with broad name recognition.
Lauren is an entrepreneur and consultant focused on accelerating growth for early-stage companies and revitalizing established organizations. Most recently Lauren was the Founding COO and Partner at the Pipeline Fellowship, an angel investing bootcamp for women. As a core member of the founding team, Lauren played a major role in building the high-profile company from its first angel investing bootcamp in April 2011. Previously, Lauren worked in the nonprofit and public sectors in economic development, environmental issues, and women’s empowerment.
Belinda Bassey Ephraim
Belinda is the Founder and Managing Partner of Luminarie Capital, a sustainably-driven private equity real estate investment management company based in New York City. Born in West Africa and having been raised on three continents, Belinda is an avid serial entrepreneur with Luminarie Capital being her third venture. She built a career in investment banking, working for SunTrust Robinson Humphrey and Merrill Lynch Capital before graduating with an MBA from Babson College.
